Hearing is a part of life, we may not think about it everyday but what would we do if we suddenly could not hear what was going on around us or hear conversations between friends and family. The ear has three major parts the outer, middle and inner, and is a very complex part which ensures that we can hear clearly. People may suffer from ear infections and this may start at very young age, and like anything else could carry on through to adult hood, it may not get any worse however it can leave people with a dull pain. We all have wax within our ears which is there to try and stop any infections.
The ear is very important not just to enable us to hear but also it gives us our sense of balance. It is often the case that people will start to loose some of their hearing when they get older, but this is a part of growing old and is why many elderly people wear hearing aids to assist them with their hearing. If you have been subject to loud noises throughout your life then this may mean you may loose slightly more hearing, whether you were subject to loud noises at work or socially. When suffering from an ear infection, this may lead to earache and this infection can take place in the inner, middle to outer part of your ear but this normally can be treated with antibiotics. One illness that is commonly suffered is tinnitus which may lead to other symptoms not just ear ache but also dizziness. No matter what illness you suffer with regards to your ear, if your ear starts to bleed you may have something stuck in your ear, you should consult your doctor or go straight to the hospital to get medical advice.
There are many internal segments to your ear and you may feel a build up of wax however this is part of your ears barrier system and therefore you do not want to get rid of excess wax with cotton buds for example as you may damage an internal part which could lead again to loss of hearing. You have to be careful very careful if you were to ever go diving because this can result in loss of hearing so easily as you dive down to great depths of the ocean. You may experience ringing in your ear but you could loose your hearing in one or both ears. There is not a lot that can be done to rectify the condition, apart from being fitted with the use of a hearing aid.
